Global Connectivity
The ultra-lightweight but rugged, rigid and easily deployed AvL range of motorized auto acquisition flyaway antennas are designed for worldwide operation in C, Ku, X and Ka-band for military and commercial applications. The antennas comprise segmented carbon fiber reflector, AvL AvL Cable Drive cable drive motorized positioner and antenna controller. AvL antennas provide extremely light weight rugged flight case packaged systems with unrivaled stiffness for optimum performance even under high wind load conditions.
Precision RF Feed
The prime focus offset optics with global mode matched feed coupled with the excellent profile accuracy and surface accuracy achieved with the unique carbon fiber reflectors result in unrivaled sidelobe and cross polar performance. The palletized C, X, Ku and Ka feed configurations allow quick, easy and precise interchange between frequency bands in the field. The unmatched performance and reliability of the AvL fully motorized positioners employing the zero backlash AvL Cable Drive cable drive system guarantee optimum pointing accuracy and pointing stability.
Simple Deployment
No maintenance is required. These antennas can be deployed by one person in less than 15 minutes and the one button auto acquisition controller locates and precisely aligns the antenna in all three axis (azimuth, elevation AND polarization) to the required satellite. Controller options are also available for tracking requirements. The rugged flight cases are designed to provide protection even in the most demanding environments. AvL’s experience with antennas providing reliable operation throughout the world and in the climatic extremes with military, broadcast and disaster relief organizations is second to none.
