Quintech Xtreme 256 L-Band Matrix Switch System
Expandable up to 2048x2048, 128x128 in 12RU chassis
Xtreme 256 L-Band Routing System
The Quintech Xtreme 256 defines the next generation of L-band matrix switching systems. It features 128x128 connections in a compact 12 RU chassis with full fan-out, non-blocking L-band RF Matrix Switching, where any input can be routed to any or all outputs.
The Xtreme 256 brings expansion by reduction and allows the user to minimize rack unit (RU) space requirements with its highly scalable packaging. The switch features a flexible matrix architecture (patent pending) that supports a variety of large symmetric or asymmetric configurations such as 64x192, 96x160, 128x128, all in a single 12 U chassis. In addition, the Quintech Xtreme 256 supports scalable, modular, multi-chassis architecture expansion up to 2048x2048.
Older large configuration legacy matrix switching systems literally require kilometers of coaxial cable and thousands of watts of power to operate. Using built-in splitter/combiner technology, the Xtreme 256 offers system sizes of 16x496 to 256x256 without use of external expansion modules. Because system size does matter, the 256 series liberates the legacy system’s RU footprint by as much as 75% and the number and length of cables and connections by up to 97%.
Advanced RF design and power management methods allow the Xtreme 256 to achieve industry leading P1dB and OIP3 linearity for maximum RF performance while cutting power consumption by up to 80%.Redundant power supplies and cooling fans insure the unit is always operational. The unit features built-in tone generation and self-test diagnostics that allows a fault to be immediately identified, isolated and corrected.
Multiple matrix control options are available starting with the integrated 15” touch screen monitor on the front panel. The unit can be controlled either locally via the integrated touch screen monitor or remotely, via a PC using the web browser GUI interface or over TCP/IP. Cross-point reconfiguration and fast signal switching times are facilitated with separate microprocessors for the GUI and internal switch configuration control. Nanosecond switching speeds are achieved whether the system is controlled by the GUI or a third party remote control.
All hot-swappable component cards and redundant power supplies are easily accessible from the front panel. The hot swappable control cards with independent Ethernet connections offer the highest level of redundancy in control.
