Designed for Government users, the Inmarsat BGAN Converge service is a groundbreaking service advancement for increasing BGAN Terminal throughput by double the normal network speed.

BGAN Bonding

BGAN Converge from Inmarsat Government is a channel bonding application that provides reliable, increased data rates to existing government users operating over the Inmarsat-4 (I-4) satellite network. As a turnkey alternative to VSAT, BGAN Converge dramatically enhances throughput while maintaining BGAN core characteristics of reliability, security, scalability and global coverage, all without a network overhaul.

BGAN Converge enables pure bonding of two satellite channels and is easily provisioned for BGAN land terminals, which makes it an ideal mobile solution for secure, high-speed live video, VoIP and file transmissions.

Service Overview

 All Local Area network applications are terminated to a single VPN router.

 The WAN output of the router connects directly to the input of the Converge System.

 The Converge System accepts the incoming UDP stream from the VPN router and separates the traffic into
two equal data streams.

 Each data stream is then sent to its corresponding BGAN terminal. The two data streams are recombined by the Converge hub servers at the Inmarsat SAS.

 A single data stream is sent to the Inmarsat Government MPLS network through Private Leased lines.

 Converge traffic from the Inmarsat SAS goes to the Inmarsat Government private MPLS network.

 Access to the internet is granted from the Inmarsat Government POPs or Users can extend private circuits into their local network infrastructure from the Inmarsat Government network.
